Three Year Old Children: -Learn primarily through exploring, using all senses. -Language is taking off for them! They learn many new words and make huge improvements in pronunciation. They communicate in simple sentences and are refining their use of grammar. With some prompting they will communicate personal experiences to others. -They are able to listen to and understand stories, poems, songs etc. They are beginning to learn alphabet letters and notice print all around them. They are understanding that print in a book tells the reader what to say. Their writing may look more like scribble and they will attempt to form pretend words using this.
-They are able to manipulate simple puzzles with little or no help.
-They will begin to classify and sort objects, but usually only by one characteristic at a time.
- They will begin to recognize numerals 0-10
-Their ability to run and climb is greatly improving.They can catch a large ball using two hands and attempt to peddle a tricycle.
-Their fine motor skills are improving as they manipulate writing tools such as crayons, markers, and pencils.
-They can dress and undress with little or no assistance
-They will begin to form real friendships with peers. When conflicts arise with peers, they will seek adult help. They are beginning to understand their feelings and emotions
